Hello and welcome to the first installment of 'Around the Grounds', where we look behind the teams and highlight the many wonderful stadiums springing up all around the St. Johns gameworld.
To kick-off this new feature we will be starting at the very top and looking at the current stadiums of the top 10 teams in the gameworld. Future features will include the top youth teams, a look at full FA divisions, maybe the odd manager interview regarding their future stadium plans and many a random stadium related stat along the way.....
Stadiums are literally a very large part of our gameworld, both logistically and financially and how you approach building yours will affect your overall game stratgey. Do you try and assemble a trophy winning team and then try and play catch up with your infrastructure, do you try and build up both playing staff and infrastructure piece-by-piece or do you follow the 'Field of Dreams' methodology ('build it, and they will come' - hopefully!).
Below is a breakdown of the stadiums currently hosting the top 10 ranked teams in our gameworld.
I will let you draw their own conclusions on these teams current directions and futures (and perhaps we will be lucky enough hear from managers in the future to shed light on their stadiums plans and thoughts), but I will pose a couple of questions before I sign off.
- Are the small stadium / high rep teams going to be able to maintain their ranking positions now that larger stadium teams are beginning to benefit from their investments?
- Who has the most impressive stadium from a fans point of view?
- How long until St Johns sees its first 50,000 all seater stadium?
- Will we ever see any corporate bigwigs slumming it on the terraces at Hajduk Spliff FC's Gravel Pit stadium?
Until next time.......
