WCA Charity Shield results!

In the WCA Charity Shield's inaugural season, the grudge match between league winners, James Recury's Volusia County, and cup winners, Paul Cornforth's The Dark Knights, kicked off the WCA season in style.

These two teams are no strangers to each other, having met in the final of the Casual Cup, with a penalty shoot-out required to separate the two teams and with Volusia having pipped Knights to the Premiership title by only two points. It was another close-fought battle, with Knights beating Volusia 1-0, the winner scored in the second period of extra time by Italian winger Simone Padoin.

In the youth Charity Shield, Abe Roddney's Daredevils FC, last season's youth league winners, secured another trophy after a 2-1 win over Phil Marsh's FC Tornado, last season's youth cup winners. To find out more and to keep up with all the WCA news, visit our blog.
